Terra Development Incorporated is owned and operated by Randy and Joanie Tobin. It is a land development company which constructed the first subdivision in the community of Witless Bay located on the Southern Shore of Newfoundland, approximately 25 minutes from downtown St.John's, the capital city of Newfoundland, Canada.
Witless Bay is a pretty seaside community located on the Avalon Penisula. Folklore states that one of the original European inhabitants of the area was a Captain Whittle and his family from Dorsetshire, England. The area was originally named after them, Whittle's Bay. Upon the death of Captain Whittle, his widow and her children decided to return to England. Hence, the remaining settlers referred to Whittle's Bay as Whittle less Bay and eventually, Witless Bay. It was incorporated in 1986 and presently has a population of approximately 1100 residents. It has a modern elementary school located in the community,St. Bernard's Elementary, and a newly constructed high school, Mobile Central High , in the nearby community.
Juniper Hill Estates was created in 2008 with Phase 1 completed that same year with 13 building lots. Phase 2 is slated for 2009 with 17 lots proposed followed by 18 lots in 2010. This subdivision is located on Tamarack Drive, off of Gully Pond Road, 0.7 kms from the Southern Shore Highway, Route 10.
Route 10 can be accessed from either:
· The main road Goulds: Turn LEFT onto Route 10 and continue to follow Provincial Route 10 for approximately 20 minutes
· You can also drive from the Trans-Canada Highway (Route 1) and take the Witless Bay Line (Route 13) to the Irish Loop Drive (Route 10).
· Mount Pearl off Commonwealth Ave or Ruby Line: turn onto R E Howlett Memorial Drive which becomes Provincial Route 10
